What is jagua? Jagua is an organic ink that is made from fruit called the Jagua fruit, or also called Genipa Americana. The gel that is used by many artists is made from the highest quality organic ingredients, grown & imported from South American rainforest. When jagua juice or paste is applied to the skin, the gel deposits a blue-black stain on your skin that can last 1-3 weeks. Unlike permanent tattoo ink which inserts pigment underneath your skin, Jagua ink is often used by South American tribes as a natural means of skin decoration and for other medicinal purposes. The gel Jay's Henna Art sells & uses contains the following ingredients: Organic Genipa Americana Fruit Juice & Organic Xanthan Gum Please note that Jagua ink contains concentrated fruit juice, and it is not safe for individuals who are allergic to tropical fruits (especially berries), ingredients listed above. We also do not apply henna or 50/50 blend on skin surfaces that are broken, infected, has eczema etc. Please feel free to contact us personally for a patch test if you suspect that you might be allergic to Jagua at jayshennaart@gmail.com Let us know if you have any more questions about jagua and we would be happy to post a Q&A blog post and YouTube video with more information!
